THE RECRAFTED HOME

This project was a comprehensive whole home remodel and addition, transforming a single family residence into a 2,664 sq. ft. custom home designed for long term living. Through a new front entry addition, a side yard dining expansion, and a full second story addition, we nearly doubled the home’s living space while maintaining a cohesive architectural vision.

The family came to us needing more space, including a primary suite, additional bedrooms, and a larger kitchen. As experienced residential architects, we understood that expanding within local Floor Area Ratio requirements would require a strategic approach. Rather than simply adding square footage, we carefully reimagined how the home could grow in a way that felt seamless and intentional.

One of the key design solutions was incorporating an attached ADU into the overall plan. This allowed us to increase functional living space while navigating zoning limitations responsibly. Inside, we raised the previously sunken family room floor to align with the new front entry and remodeled kitchen, creating a natural flow between old and new construction.

Because we also led the interior design, we were able to unify the expanded footprint with a calming color palette, cohesive finishes, and thoughtful detailing. The result is a modern home addition that feels integrated rather than appended.

Today, the residence feels open, balanced, and fully aligned with the family’s needs. What once felt constrained is now a spacious, light filled home that supports everyday living with comfort and ease. This project reflects our approach to custom home additions and renovations, where thoughtful planning turns complex constraints into beautiful, livable solutions.
